Happy Thanksgiving!!

It was a nice Thanksgiving for us this year. Both boys napped while we at dinner at my uncle and aunts. It was unintentional, they both fell asleep on the way there and stayed down until after we were done. It worked out well, they are the only two children on this side of the family and they really didn't miss anything.

Once they woke up we all just hung out and watched Lion King 1 1/2 and played. Jack made fast friends with my cousins boyfriend Tomo and Tommy just charmed anyone and everyone. They even lit birthday candles for him to blow out....three times....

From my Aunt and Uncles we went up the street to Dan's Aunt and Uncles house. Tommy had kept asking for his Bobo (Dan's Mom) and he was so wired on ice cream we just had to go see her and burn off some of his energy. I am so happy we went....other than the fat incredibly bloody lip (really how can such a little cut on such a little lip produce sooo much blood) and the two smashed fingers, it was great.

Dan's Aunt is a speach therapist, she works with kids mostly around 3-4 years old. I told her the issues Jack has with solid foods. At 9 months he is just now starting to tolerate purees without gagging. It was nice to have her opinion on things...she agrees that it isn't quite normal that he still can't handle any finger foods (cheerios, etc) unless we absolutely crush them. There have been many many children in this family (a very large, very close knit family) Jack is the youngest (currently) and she said she has never seen anyone have issues like his...not that they are major, but somewhat concerning. She is going to get the number for Early Intervention for me so that I can speak with them and see if there is something we should be doing with him at home. We will also find out if we shouldn't be looking into it being something anatomical. He has is next well visit in a little over a week, I will talk to the ped then, but regardless, I can call early intervention myself if I need to.

As for the fat lip - Tommy did a face plant at Dan's Aunt's house - I can't get over the amount of blood that poured out of his little lip - it was such a little cut too. It took us a while to get it under control, but once it stopped bleeding and he had calmed down a little bit he seemed to have forgotten all about it and was back up and running again.

Well it is late - and Jack and I are headed out fairly early tomorrow so I should finally sign off...I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!
