The first hospital trip

So I can only tell this story from my perspective, as I lived out the entire event on my phone while working at Mass General Hospital in Boston. Let me start from the beginning of that day.

Knowing I had to work in Boston, downtown, and I had to go somewhere I was not familiar with - I left the house very early that day in early November. I was at the hospital by 7:30am. I had teh machine apart and my work begun when the first call came in, it was Dan. My father had just called him, Tommy had fallen down the stairs, was bleeding, a cut above his eye. It was now almost 8am, Tommy and Pop Pop were on their way to Hasbro Children's Hospital, Dan was off to meet them, and I was stuck in Boston, as it was rush hour there was no point to me leaving.

The calls came in throughout the morning. Tommy needed stitches, and my Dad was a wreck. By the time I was finally able to leave and get home, Tommy was already home and in bed - with a black eye and bruised chin and 7 stitches above his eye. He handled it like a trooper and did not for a minute let the fall stop him, or deter him from playing on the stairs every chance he got.

Our two little guys

I can't decide if Jack really looks that much like Tommy. I thought I'd post some side by side pics of them at the same ages and let you all decide

Jackson David

Jackson joined our family March 6, 2008. He was a little peanut in the beginning - I just couldn't believe how little he was, especially when next to Tommy. From the very beginning Tommy was just amazed by him, and now loves to dole out hugs and kisses to his little brother. Jack is perfectly happy with the love Tommy shows him, and is content to watch Tommy play whenever he can. Our little man is now tipping the scales at almost 13 pounds - definitely not so little anymore. Everyday we see his personality coming out more and more. Our happy little chatterbox is really becoming his own person and has brought so much joy to our family.

Welcome Jackson David

Call me spike!!

Best Brothers

Happy to just lay in the grass on a nice day

Thomas Michael

July 3rd 2006 our little family officially began with the arrival of Thomas. I'll spare the details but I can tell you it was an amazing experience. Bringing this little guy into the world definitely changed my life forever and I wouldn't have it any other way. I can't imagine life without him - everyday he makes me laugh, and its been amazing experiencing the world through his eyes. The wonder he faces everyday with blows me away - the joy and curiosity make every day an adventure. Even the rainy days when the highlight is chasing the cat or following an ant.

Thomas Michael arrives!!

So expressive from the start!!!

He had so much fun in the snow!!!

Our Wedding Day

For over a year and a half we planned our big day. Taking our time, I really enjoyed every moment of it!! Our friend Nora had offered us the use of her property - a beautiful farm in Warren, RI. The beauty of her farm set the tone for one of the happiest days of my life. Complete with horses, fireworks, and a streaker (enter Dan's cousin Pat). As beautiful as the weather and our surroundings were, what truly made the day as special as it was, were the friends and family that came to celebrate with us. With toasts that made even the unblushable Dan turn red, a gift of fireworks from some dear friends, and ice luges to carry the celebration long into the night - I will never forget how special that day was for us.

Background Noise

Obviously our family did not just start today. So much happened before I even started here and I want to capture as much as I can. For that reason, I am going to start posting pics and stories of some of the events of our lives that happened long before this blog...hope you enjoy!!
