My Peanut is a String Bean

Jack's 12 month well visit was this morning.

We got a little shock when we put him on the scale. At his 9 month appointment Jack was 20lbs even, today he was 20lbs 6oz. So he gained, but he has dropped from just over the 25th percentile to just over the 10th percentile. His height is still 50th and his head is 75th so I guess I don't have a little peanut, short and round, but a little stringbean...well...a string bean with a pea on top :)

Dr isn't worried about it, he said he should be up about a pound by his 15 month and we won't be too concerned. He's not much of an eater, it took us a while to even get him on solid foods as it was (well after his 9 month check up) so I really am not too surprised, he is crawling and cruising like a madman and just not meeting his calorie needs completely quite yet.

We did have one other little shock, poor baby is rocking a sinus/ear infection. We noticed he woke up the past couple of mornings with icky gooey eyes, and he has been congested for a while now...poor thing...I have no idea how long he has been so icky. So now he is on amoxicillin.

On the plus side his mood is still great. He is clingy, but he is always clingy. I tend to clean and make parts of dinner (away from stove obviously) with him attached to my hip (I really need to get another sling so I can keep one in the house and one in the car).

So that's my little man....actually THIS is my little man (isn't he just the cutest!!)

So that's my little string bean....

And that was my incredibly wordful wednesday....check out the fabulous Angie at Seven Clown Circus for bloggers like me who just can't keep it wordless!!

  3. Aren't boys and their growth spurts somewhat funny? My son is the same way. Super skinny and, shall we say, um, high on the chart for head size? I swear it is because they are so very, very active.

No matter what your boy's stats are, you definitely have one cutie on your hands! :)

  11. You are right, he really is cute. My little Goose has always been on the small side, 10th percentile or under on weight most of her life. She was still under 20 at her first check up, it took us forever before we could turn the carseat around.

  18. I would have never guessed that he was so light...He is just precious. I love that stripey jacket he is wearing too. I hate when they are sick, but I do love the extra love I get when they are. Is that bad to say? Hope he is better soon.

  22. We just had our 12 month well check this week too! Eli is at the 50th percentile for height and the 20th for weight with a 70th percentile head. So our kids are about the same size!
