You know the drill...its Thursday again (well...ok...its Wednesday night, but close enough...) Its time once again for our weekly writing assignment. Check out Mama Kat to join in the fun!!
This Week's Prompts:
1.) Write a limerick.
2.) Normal is...
3.) Describe a memorable camping experience.
4.) What's the best thing that has happened this week?
5.) Did you have a childhood hideout? Where? Describe it.
6.) Words that hurt me.
[I have to admit it was hard to do #1 without being...well...Andrew Dice Clay-ish]
There once was a boy named Jack
Who screamed and cried for a snack,
His mama so sweet
Gave him a treat
And now his little lips smack
Baby is turning a year
This weekend we join in a cheer
He is growing so fast
The time flying past
And Mama sheds a sad tear
Normal is screaming and kicking, yelling and running. Normal is loud and raucous, messy and dirty and smelly. Normal is laughing at burps and farts, nose picking, bum scratching, cheerio off the floor eating.
To a mommy of boys normal is chaos, its loud and crazy. As a mommy of boys I pull my hair and grind my teeth. My normal is tired and stressed, not enough money, not enough time, not enough hands.
Normal is a full heart ready to burst with love at any moment. Normal is laughing, smiling, sharing hugs and kisses. Normal is stealing quick cuddles and sweet naps, baking cookies, painting pictures and sometimes walls. Normal is comforting my sad babies and loving them anyway I can.
I wouldn't want to know any other sort of normal.
