I just found out that MacGuyver's first name was Angus....who knew?

As Kameron mentioned last week she and I will be participating (as vendors) in the South County Hot Air Balloon Festival...I finally got the official letter and parking pass the other day...I am finally starting to freak out a little. For the next 6 weeks I need to spend every spare moment (HA!! what is a spare moment) sewing...

The boys are actually gone all day today so I can do just that - I am going to spread out all over my living room and sew my heart out for the next two days (wait...then why am I on the computer now?!) Dan is keeping the boys at his mothers until bed time tonight and they will be gone during the day tomorrow too. This is a great opportunity for me to make lots of bags and belts and everything else I'd like to make, I really need to take advantage of this time.

Also if you have noticed I've added a couple items to my Etsy shop, but not all that much considering how much I talk about my sewing - there is a reason for that. I am trying to stock pile everything I possibly can for July. There potentially will be THOUSANDS of people walking by our booth and I need to have as much ready as possible!!

Don't tell my husband, but I am pretty sure I spent more time getting myself ready for my first mom's group play date than I did for our last date together. We had a wonderful time with everyone!! It was my first time going to this particular play ground and I was amazed!! It had the coolest structures and was so wonderfully fenced/gated - it felt so safe there. And the mothers that I met were so incredibly nice. This particular group has something going on almost every single day, actually several things at different times so that regardless of nap schedule/age everyone can do something. Next week we will be going on a private tour of a great local Marine biology center, I can't wait.

I have tons of great pictures from yesterday - today is my sewing day (I am not supposed to be blogging at all, too much to do) so I will share all my pictures tomorrow.

Speaking of pictures. I have been wanting to get a nice Nikon dSLR for some time now, but with my current (un)employment situation I really can't justify the money. Well it hit me the other day, why get a new SLR when I have a perfectly wonderful Nikon sitting in my back room. Several years ago for christmas (before we were married) Dan bought me a wonderful 35mm Nikon N65 - it is an amazing camera - a perfect beginners camera - it has all the fun and incredible settings, but it also allows for automatic point and shoot like use.

The loving hubby and I have talked - I am going to use this camera for now - learn how to really use a good SLR with this one, and should my sewing prove to profitable maybe by christmas I can get a nice Nikon dSLR. I have found several on ebay that are the body only, and seeing how I already have a compatible lens that will work just fine....and I am sure I will find more when the time comes!!

Alright...as I mentioned I really should be sewing.....please send me all the creative vibes you can...I need them all to get moving today!!

Your show will be awesome and I have 2 of Kameron's shirts but it looks like I might need a purse or apron from your store soon!!!

  2. This is seriously the best post. I loved reading about how much happiness you have found through your sewing! Oh, and the fact that you know Kameron in real life makes everything so much more fun. The two of you are some of my favorite bloggers.
