Randomly Rambling in Kansas City

I am joining in the fun again this week - but really what else am I going to do. I have a 4 hour wait in the dinky dog little Kansas City (Missouri) airport - and I am doing my best to stay distracted and not go get a HUGE delicious Cinabon.

************

So why exactly would an airline book allow my trip to be booked that would give me 20 minutes to get from gate C21 to gate A7 in the Detroit airport?! {in other words on the other side of the airport!!} Seriously?! The place is HUGE and I had to all but run to get there on time....my first flight was even early!!!

And why, while I was hauling tail through the airport, would someone think it was the right time to ask me to sign up for frequent flier miles....I don't care about the round trip ticket - I would have to use it to make up for the flights that I missed if I signed up!!!

Airports visited: 4
Cities traveled to/from: 4
Hours traveling/working: 20
Spending 2 hours working and 18 hours "traveling": priceless

yup after leaving my house at 4:15 this morning, and getting to get home sometime after midnight, the repair work I was sent to do only took me 2 hours....I won't even begin to tell you how I feel about that!!!

After the wonderful structure and schedule we had last week - enjoying my return to full time employment - we are now living a week of chaos. Not once this week have we gone directly home from work. There has been bookcases to pick up {and dinner to eat} at my MILs, errands to run for the Open Market this weekend, travel for work, baby boy's hair to get cut. It has been insanity!! I don't know how I am going to survive the weekend {but I am guessing that lots of coffee will be involved!!} Next week we have NOTHING planned - and will keep it that way. We are all feeling the effects of such a long week {read: we are all cranky} and need a quiet boring week.

I have to say I feel very out of touch with everyone these days - like I'm blogging in my own little corner, hidden away. I feel like I am losing (maybe even) lost connections....like I said, just losing touch. This transition back to work has been easy in some respects and very hard in others. I keep thinking of all the things the boys and I didn't do this summer, all the work I didn't get accomplished. I keep wishing for one more week - or better yet a way to stay home all together. Sadly for me neither of these things will happen, at least not for a very very long time.

If you are feeling I've neglected you lately...I'm sorry, I have. I am trying to adjust to my new life and still find time for me and my friends.....hopefully overtime I will fall back into the swing of it all again. {seriously how did I do this when I was working before...oh that's right...I could blog and work...can't do that this time around}

************

And last but not least...I have been a mad {material} sewing mamma. Kameron and I are getting everything ready for the Providence Open Market this Saturday. I am so excited that we have this opportunity to put ourselves out there. I am really hoping we are successful. {I have yet to have any Etsy success hoping this helps me along}. I have some new products I will be showcasing this weekend - and a few new ones planned. I am going to hold off posting anything new until after the Open Market (3rd weekend of October) - but I promise there will be some great Christmas presents in there {in addition to the lovely bags I make *wink*}

Man in business suit, on lap top, in 50's, just told the caller on the other end of the phone "holla back yo, peace" No I am not eavesdropping he is just that loud

************

Ok...that's enough randomness for now...off to find something {other than a cinnamon roll} to eat. and stay tuned {hopefully} coming soon you will see loads of lovely pictures from the open market, Jack's new haircut , pictures of our fun labor day weekend and maybe some other goodies too....if I can find the time of course.

  2. Honestly, after traveling for 18 hours to work for 2, you're due a stop at cinnabon! It's one of the few redeeming things about airports! Good luck transitioning back to work :)

  10. Glad you rambled along! Wish you would have had more of a layover in Detroit and I could have come by to say "Hello"! I live less than 15 minutes from the airport.

    Wishing you all the best success this weekend with the market. You girls will rock it out!
