Its A....

I don't know why, but when I picked this little guy up from his seat in the car (where he was soundly sleeping) I could help but think of the day we found out he was going to be a he.

I couldn't tell you the exact date, but I remember the day clearly.  We were so convinced we were having a little girl - this preganancy had been going so differently than my first.  We were sure baby #2 was going to be a little girl - we were already discussing names and looking at clothing.

Then there we sat, in the dark little room with the ultra sound tech, right across the hall from my midwife's office.  She poked prodded and scanned, examined legs, toes, heart beats.  And then she asked us....and of course we said yes we wanted to know, even though we were sure we already did....

"Its a boy!!"  S

Stunned silence...she showed us the proof....there was no doubt....

We just looked at each other and laughed, lauged so hard that I started to cry - I don't think she quite got it at first...I think she thought we were upset.  We weren't....really it was never about gender - we really didn't care...but for some reason we thought this was the funniest thing ever!!  We joked about having to get all the baby clothes back from our friends - and that we wouldn't have to upgrade to a bigger house yet (only one bedroom for the kids here)

We were able to see our little boy in 3D that day too - his little face - his fingers...

I was so convinced I was having a girl, never have I been so happy to be wrong.

I love my little Jack more than life itself.  I am so happy that Tommy has a little brother to play with, fight with, and even look after.  I am grateful for the house full of matchbox cars and toy trains, the thrill over everything mechanic or motorized.  (we watch movies about cars and trains and even monster trucks).

I am so happy and proud to be a mom of two boys - I am glad that day turned out the way it did.  I am happy I have this little guy...

as he is the perfect compliment to this  not so little anymore guy

Really...its like an almost matching set...

  5. can I say I'm a bit jealous - my dream before I had children was to have 4 boys. Obviously that has not worked out for me - but like you - I wouldn't change it for the world. My girls softened me up a bit!

  7. I knew the second time that I was having another boy, so it was not surprise to me! My hubby was a bit surprised on the other hand. He tells me that next time we can have a girl... I hope so!

  8. With my first child, I was positive I was having a boy, and I was right. With my second child, I was positive I was having a girl, and I was right again. With my third child, I was positive I was having a boy, and I was WRONG. I told the doctor he was wrong. lol But he was right - she is all girl!
Your boys are adorable and I bet they are a lot of fun!

  16. Awww... very sweet indeed! I love being a mom to two boys - they are the cutest, and it's sort of easier, you know? And when they start playing together, it is priceless... seeing their similarities, and differences, too - it's very neat!
