Perfect Timing

On my happy list I mentioned perfect timing...

...sadly, no I am not, at the moment, pregnant, as many of you asked - in comment or email :).

The past year has been a "tough" one for my family.

I know that "tough" is relative,  it could have been a lot worse.

Everything that has happened in the past year has lead us to the next thing, has brought us to a new place in our lives, our relationships, has made us a stronger family.

I believe that everything happens for a reason and exactly when it is supposed to. (but please don't ask me to tell you the reason, for the most part I just don't know)

This winter we had to make the decision to move back in with my MIL, the bills and debt that resulted from my unemployment were just more than we could overcome.  We spent several months helping get her house ready - finishing a bathroom, painting the bedrooms, cleaning organizing.  Finally the time came to move.

Three days before we were ready to move (last Friday) I lost my job.

The timing was perfect.

If I had lost my job sooner, or we had planned to move later we would be in a scramble right now - trying to move and sell and just get it all done quickly.  Instead the everything was already in place...

And just as we were getting ready to move, my husband's work informed him that he was being pulled off his furlough - and the week we had planned to both be home to move and unpack he could only have one day.

The timing was perfect - although at first we didn't see it.

Being pulled off furlough means that they are busy, so busy that not only did they need him there this week, but they also need him to work overtime, and as a result earn a little more money, right now every extra dime is needed...

Things have not been easy this year, tears have been shed, chocolate has been consumed en masse (pant sizes have crept up), but we are doing just fine and we will be just fine.

So perfect timing has made what could have been some really disheartening events not so bad.

If you see me today, I am smiling (I'm a little messy and dirty from all the unpacking and packing and cleaning) but mostly I am smiling.

Because of perfect timing.

Just thought I'd share...before anyone else thought I was pregnant.

  1. I was happy to see your smiling face this morning at school and happy that you are content today with the path that you are traveling on! Hugs and love!

  2. I can't wait to meet you "in person" in May so that I can do all that I can to absorb as much of your positive energy as I can. You are an inspiration in how to truly make lemonade.

  3. I am glad that you have some perfect timing. :)

(although I did wonder about another baby...heh)

  5. What a wonderful post! I love that you have the attitude of finding the positive, instead of wallowing in the negative. I'm happy for you and I hope things continue to get better in their own perfect time!

  6. LOVE this. Hooray for perfect timing in ALL things. Still cheering you on!
