Soccer Week 2

I tried to be optimistic last week, but it was tough.  The chaos, the lack of a field for the little kids, the lack of the help we were promised.

This week, I walked up, anxious.  As team parent there was a lot on my shoulders and I didn't want to let any of the other parent or their sweet boys down.

This week, I walked up to a lush green field, free of the goose droppings from last week.  A high school student eager and willing to help us teach our boys.

This week is what I hoped it would be - and Tommy played THE ENTIRE TIME!!  There were no complaints, no tears (from any of the boys for that matter).  They had fun, the parents laughed and enjoyed the chaos of 4 and 5 year olds and the company of the other parents.

Now I really am looking forward to next week (and not secretly hoping for a hurricane to cause it to be cancelled)

ok, well Tommy mostly played...while not checking out his jersey or goofing with the other boys - 4 year olds will be 4 year olds after all :)

  1. I'm glad things went better this time. We have our first real practice tonight for my 6 yr old. Hoping it goes well... :)

They are so cute in their little uniforms... :)

  2. That's the way it should be! Just fun and no drama. Glad everything went well!

  3. I'm cracking up about you hoping for a hurricane! lol

I'm glad this soccer game went well. Hoorayyyy for no goose droppings! :p

  4. They all are so cute... love seeing them enjoy themselves. I had no idea that your first week was so chaotic. I'm sure it will be smooth sailing from here on out. :)

  5. I'm glad it went better the second time around! I can't imagine trying to get 4 and 5 year olds to do anything structured so great job!
