You May Not Be Here...

But you definitely are not gone.

You are here in your children
Nine strong women and men
Who have learned from you how to be strong
How to perservere
How to raise a family and be a family.

You are here in your 16 Grandchildren
All of us adults now
Proud to have called you Grandma, Memere, Meme.

You are here in you 6 Great Grandchildren (and the 3 on the way)
The little ones who will hear stories and see pictures
And know to be proud that they can call you Memere.

You are here now and always will be.

We will cry for our loss
But celebrate your life
Glad to know that you are at peace,
Blessed that you were in our lives.

Whenever we write a story, a letter, (a blog post)
We will remember your love of writing

Whenever we dance, with our friends, with our families, with our children
We will remember your love of dancing and music.

Whenever we gather,  hold each other, share the love of family
We will remember all the love you gave us.

You were the first on the dance floor, and the last to leave it
And I can't think of any better way to remember you!!

  1. What a loving tribute to your precious grandmother! The poem is beautiful, and the video is so sweet and touching. It's evident to all just how much your family loved her.

I am so sorry for your loss, Liz. You and your family will be in my prayers.
