The Lists Return (again)

I am trying to follow along with 31 Days to Build a Better Blog. The lovely ladies over at SITS are hosting a 31DBBB party of sorts over at their forums. Each day for 31 days there is a task that is meant to help us build a better blog (I bet you could have figured that one out on your own though...). Todays task? Write a "List Post"....considering how much I enjoy writing lists this one shouldn't be too much of a problem....right?

The Happy List

  • I start my new job next week...well really its an old job, that I am just returning to.  I am so excited to be going back to work again
  • I am going out for sushi with some of my fabulous cousins tonight
  • My mom and I are taking Tommy to see the Lion King tomorrow night
  • My local MOPS group is starting at MOPS in the evening meeting, one friday a month, starting this friday!!
  • Saturday night we will be going to our friends for PJs and Movie night (soooooo excited!!)
The Not So Happy List
  • I feel guilty that I will be leaving Olivia at daycare when she is only 9 weeks old
  • Our daycare of choice doesn't have room for Jack and Olivia immediately so I will have to do some juggling for two weeks after I start work
  • I can't seem to lose any of this baby weight, despite the fact that we are exclusively breastfeeding!!

To Do List
  • Finish the boys' new PJs for Saturday night
  • Finish the bean bag chair I started last Saturday
  • Finish the dress for smiley little A.
  • Clean out my closet/dresser get rid of any too big maternity clothes, find clothes that fit me
  • Start organizing clothes for the upcoming consignment sale
  • Start organizing/planning for Spring craft shows
  • Complete valentine's gifts for Tommy's class
My Wish List (the materialistic edition)
  • dSLR - seriously I NEED one of these, especially since my camera is on its way out...quickly...
  • A Kindle (or a Nook....I will gladly take recomendations)
  • A new blog design (such desperate need of one and I just don't have the time to do it...)
  • New clothing (some that actually fit me would be nice :)

  1. I think your wish list looks a lot like those of many other people!

Enjoy the sushi! Lucky you! And good luck with your new job. I know it's tough to not feel guilt, but you're doing what's best for everyone I'm sure.

    Great list post!

  2. I found you on the 31DBBB! Love your blog...and this post! I'm a list-lover myself; I can't function without writing lists for everything!

  3. Here from 31DBBB. I actually jumped over from your comment on my post. :)
Great list! Your list is probably the kind of list I should have written. I have a very long to do list myself. If I actually wrote it down I might be compelled to accomplish it! Not sure if I want that or not. ;)
I have a Nook color and I love it. I was able to load the 31DBBB PDF on it and it makes it much easier to read. :)

  4. Congrats on the new job! I'm sure everything will work out with daycare.

One thing I learned as a young mom...it didn't matter to my kids whether I made brownies from a boxed mix or stayed up all night making handmade treats for their classes. The kids loved Oreos as well as homemade cookies. What I found I was actually doing was "competing" with the other moms. My boys didn't care about any of that. They just wanted my love and attention. I started signing those lists for parties FIRST after that, putting my name down for chips and dip or for drinks! lol Make it as easy on yourself as possible. :-)

  5. Have fun back at work and enjoy your you time. I imagine it must be hard to leave baby but you have to do what you have to do.

Good Luck finding clothes. I hate that transition period when you haven't lost any/all the weight.

kinde/nook. One is back lit and one is not. I don't really know which is which but that's something to keep in mind.

I used nap warden to make my header? I didn't have anyone else design my blog except for the banner. I think she does design too.

  6. Um, so Lilah's 9 months old and I feel like I haven't lost my baby weight... so I think you're doing ok!!

Sorry about your return to work - I know that will be hard. I still haven't even gone back full-time because I feel guilty!
