Its no secret that one of the greatest tools when trying to lose weight, get fit, etc is to have a strong support system. So when my friend Stephanie mentioned a new fitness project she was starting, and how she was looking for fellow local bloggers to join her I jumped at the chance. Say hello to Project 10
What is Project 10
Stephanie says it very well in her intro post (click on the link or the image above) but to sum it up here - we are a group of real average women, working together to achieve our fitness goals. We are not all following the same diet or exercise plans but we are coming together to support each other however we chose to get fit. Every Wednesday we will post our stats, issues, successes, comments and share our journey to getting fit while still keeping our busy daily lives running.
What's our goal?
Our goal for Project 10 is to create a support group that encourages and inspires women to make healthy choices.
My Goals:
- Train for my next half marathon (Surftown Half Marathon in September)
- Loose 15-20 lbs (I'm giving myself a little wiggle room here still - not 100% sure that the weight is really the ultimate goal)
- Fit into a size 6 (this was my pre baby size all so many years ago)
I am not following any specific plan, just the basic rule of eat well and exercise. I am fortunate enough to work at a company that offers nutrition services (I see the nutritionist every other week) and has a full gym with classes. As long as I continue to utilize these amazing benefits I'll be on the right track.
I will, however, be following a half marathon training plan as I get closer to September to train for the race.
My Stats:
I can't believe I'm about to share these
Weight: 155 (I've lost 6 pounds in the last month and a half)
Size: 10/12
Arm: 11.75"
Chest: 38.5"
Waist: 33"
Hips: 41.5"
Legs: 23.5"
My plan is to weigh in weekly, but only do the measurements every 2 weeks
My Before Picture:
I took a picture the other day - shorts and tank top - tight fitting so you could see every detail...I am not ready to share that picture yet....but here is a recent picture of me so you can get an idea of where I'm starting from.
There we are at the half marathon a couple weeks ago (you can read about how that went here). Its sadly the only picture I have of myself since Easter.
The Project 10 Ladies:
Be sure to visit all these amazing ladies who are working hard to do this together. And if you want to join use please do!! The more the merrier!! Head on over to Stephanie's Mommy Brain and check out her intro post, write your own post, and then link up!!
